Diet and Exercise

Dreaded words.  Angry words.  Painful words.  Impossible words.

Not any more!

Life Style and Mind Set coupled with the vast array of processed foods now available have combined very quietly to decay your body before you are even dead.
 
Diet is simple - that is what you eat and drink - so everyone in the entire world is on a diet. But -- is that diet fueling your body or killing it.

Exercise is simple - do you breathe, do you walk, do you sleep, do you sit up or stand up? - each of these is exercise so everyone in the world does some kind of exercise. You just need to move to more.

Why are you over weight or out of shape?  There are so many possible reasons that any one who claims that only the "right diet" and the "right exercise" will "cure" you is so very sadly wrong.

People are obsessed with dieting and weight loss! Just tune-in to any source of advertising...you're instantly bombarded with the latest diet schemes and "Hollywood" food fads.

- 64 percent of U.S. adults are either overweight or obese...up about eight percent from earlier estimates.

- Among children and teens ages 6-19, 15 percent or almost nine million are overweight...triple the rate in 1980!

- Nearly one-third of all adults are now classified as obese. 

- We're drinking less milk, but we've more than doubled our cheese intake. Cheese now outranks meat as the number one source of saturated fat in our diets.

It seems that the days of wholesome and nutritious family dinners are being replaced by fast food and eating on-the-run. We have gradually come to accept that it's just a fact of life that we must sacrifice healthy foods for the sake of convenience and that larger serving portions equate to better value. 

Our higher standard of living requires that we work longer hours not less hours.  We therefore have less hours to spend with family. We have less time to spend on fun. We worry about everything including health - and to dull the pain we munch and drink.  The instant gratification we have come to expect is evident in the sweet drinks and salty empty calories we munch.
