Eat More, you have to be kidding. It only works if you
eat more often, in smaller quantities and you eat good
food. That means that the snack is an apple and a hand
full of nuts not candy or chips.
Take a little time to figure out what is very low on the
glycemic index and use those foods for your snacks.

Stay away from those boxed breakfast foods. You do not
need the sugar directing fat to your belly. Since your
breakfast is your big meal of the day, you need protein as well
as carbs. There is nothing wrong with eggs or even a
slice of bacon. Naturally you will want to avoid fried
foods in an effort to eliminate trans fats which also direct
the fat straight to your belly. Try eating an orange instead of
drinking processed-sugar-added juice.
If eating a big breakfast makes you sleepy, you need to take
a hard look at what you are eating. Remember that foods
that you are allergic to, can make you sleepy. Eating
sweets especially in the morning can make your blood sugars go
berserk and you may totally slump mid morning or turn into a
shaking leaf.

Try Rye bread instead of white or wheat which are both high
on the GI index. If you must have sweetened oatmeal, try
a little honey and maybe some cinnamon. The honey is not
processed by your body the same way sugar is. Honey is a

tasting to find one that tastes good to you.
Go for a piece of fruit mid morning. Lunch is a medium
meal. You are still in an active part of your day and can
work off what you are eating. Your metabolism is still
running high from that healthy breakfast and the mid morning
snack. You are not eating huge amounts but the consistent
putting food in the stomach keeps your body and brain from
thinking that you are in starvation mode.
Lunch like breakfast should have both protein and
carbs. A Rye bread sandwich is just fine. Try to put some
veggies on that sandwich to insure your daily fiber
requirement.
Mid afternoon, you are going to have a snack. At least
mid way between lunch and your evening meal, you must have a
snack. All studies have shown that people who have a
snack eat a smaller portion of food at the evening meal.
Otherwise it has just been too long since food was introduced
to the stomach and it just takes too long for the brain to
respond to the full signal when eating is resumed.

It is ok to over-eat at breakfast but not in the evening. At
night you become sedentary. Even if you clean the house
or go for a walk, your brain is directing the body to prepare
for sleep and your metabolism will slow down. If you
insist on doing vigorous exercise in the evening, you are going
to mess up your most necessary sleep cycle. You will also sleep
better without a heavy load in and on your stomach.
Look to salads and fruit for your evening meal. These
are easily digested. You need fiber. You might want
to return to the old fashioned evening meal of soup.
Homemade is better as you will get less salt and can pick a
leaner cut of meat to reduce the animal fat in the stock.
You can put everything in a crock pot in the morning and just
spoon in after work. Don't limit yourself to just soup,
add the salad and fruit.
Perhaps the hardest part of this plan is converting to
it. If you are eating a lot at night you are not hungry
in the morning so breakfast may just be a cup or two of
coffee. Start eating breakfast tomorrow morning. If
nothing else just eat a boiled egg and an orange. Do your
snacks during the day and limit yourself to a salad or soup for
your evening meal. Only fruit for an evening snack.
Within a few days your body will be hungry in the morning and
then all you have to worry about is the habit of crunching on
cookies in front of the TV at night.
