Flatten Your Stomach by Getting Rid of
Stress
If you are someone that has a lot of stress, you probably have
the stress belly that goes with it. There are many
reasons for stress and one of them is health so this turns into
the vicious circle. If you feel like you are gaining
weight and you are not as attractive as you once were, you may
start to sink into a depression from stress.
You may not have put on much in the way of pounds, but your
stomach is sticking out farther than any other body parts.
It is important to have a method of exercise to release both
this stress and get your body and mind back in shape.
How to quickly flatten your
stomach
This instant shape adjustment is also a good way to relieve
stress. Just stand up straight, throw back those
shoulders, and suck in that stomach. Instant body
adjustment, instant attitude adjustment.
I grew up with a mother who constantly nagged me to stand up
straight and suck in my belly. In times of stress when I
start to slump, I can hear that voice.
Don't let anyone tell you that just pulling in your stomach
is not an exercise to flatten your stomach. Ever hear of
isometrics? If your back muscles have gone the way of the
dodo bird, you will feel the burn when you try to keep pulling
your stomach into proper place. With time it gets easier
as the muscles get stronger. And what happens when we
build strong muscles --- we lose weak fat.
You can take long walks to relieve stress and help flatten
your stomach.
No plodding along - get that head up, throw those shoulders
back. Swing your arms. Flatten your stomach for a
count of 10. Remember to breathe. Do a set of 10
working up to 20. Then walk a block with all the muscles
relaxed. Next block - repeat of suck in that belly.
Your mind may become so focused on the stomach exercise and
remembering to stand up straight, that for a few moments you
may forget the stressful situation you think you are in.
When the mind is free to think about something in the back
ground - sometimes really good solutions pop in.
You can do some yoga or palates to help get stress out of
your body and work on those torso muscles at the same
time. You can do this once a day or a few times a
week.
You can also sit quietly and meditate. This may not be
an exercise for body muscles, but it is exercise for the brain
and will open the pathway for solutions to problems. Less
stress, less stomach bulge. Flatter stomach, one less
stress.
Most therapists and doctors recommend that you get an
exercise buddy. However, sometimes the stressful
situation involves family and or friends. Your best exercise
buddy may be the trainer at a local gym. Someone who does
not know you and therefore does not judge.
Stress can cause belly bulge -- Exercise can turn off stress
and reduce belly bulge. Two for one, you can't beat that.
Exercise to reduce stress, and flatten your stomach.
Flatter stomach, reduced stress, weight loss. Wait, that
is 3 for 1.
