Growing Up
with Babies and Toddlers
Nothing
will make you grow up
faster than raising
children. Babies are
wonderful. Toddlers are
wonderful. They are also
scarry, messy, loud and
will totally change your
life.
One minute
you are glowing with love
for that adorable little
bundle and an hour later
some monster in you wants
to throttle that
screaming red faced
imp.
As a
grandmother who was
suddenly in charge of a w
year old and a brand new
infant, I found my 35
year old memories were
perhaps a little old
fashioned.
So I came
up with the idea for a
sort of directory of
babies and toddlers
information for new or
not so new
parents.
The basics
remain the same. You
cannot give a baby or a
toddler too much love or
too many hugs and kisses
or too much
encouragement. You have
to draw a line on
behavior and stick to it.
Toddlers will test every
rule. Babies are not as
fragile as you think.
Parents make mistakes
even when trying their
very best. If you mess
up---apologize---toddlers
do have a sense of self
worth.
I am
asking that all
grandmother and
grandfathers who see this
site, send me their
personal tips for raising
babies and toddlers. Lets
put together a super site
of information and
personal stories to help
out all those new
parents. (You know your
own children may dismiss
your advice unless it is
in writing on the
web!!)
That said,
please check out these
articles and
resources.

Information
on Healthy
Reflexes
What would
any
discussion
about baby
health be
without
talking
about their
reflexes.
What is
normal?
What should
you be
worried
about? If
in doubt,
talk to
your
physician
about your
baby's
health and
reflexes.

Baby
Shower
A different
baby
shower. A
surprise
shower does
involve
some
secrets, so
remember to
be
stealthy.
But you
will want
to make
sure that
the
mom-to-be
will be up
for a
surprise.

Photographs
Babies and

and
Photographs.
Taking
pictures of
your new
baby may
just be the
start of a
new
scrapbook.
You will
need a lot
of pictures
of your
baby or
toddler to
keep grand
parents
happy.
