Lose Weight with a Balanced pH
Sharon Owen ©2004
Finally some sound advice. Main stream medicine is finally making a big noise about pH balance. This is not something new. Doctors have known about pH balance and the disease that results from imbalance.
Dozens of books have been written listing foods to eat and foods to avoid. Everything you put in your mouth will have either an acidic or alkaline result on your body.
Osteoporosis may not be so much an age problem as a definite pH balance problem. Calcium is leeched from the bones to neutralize an overly acidic body.
Everyone knows that the thyroid controls metabolism but how many know that a pH imbalance to the acidic side will just have the acid eating away at the thyroid and depressing your metabolism.
Every single cell in your body is concerned with pH balance. Those fat cells you are packing away are trying to get the acid away from the vital organs. No wonder when you try to diet you feel so ucky. All those toxins and acids are released from the stored fat.
If it took you 20 years to put on 10 lbs, how can you expect to lose that 10 lbs in 1 week and feel great?
Was that weight gain "sudden"? Did you really put on 10 lbs in a week? I think not. Weight gain is insidious. It sneaks up and suddenly clothes no longer fit. We blaim the fat grams in the fast food hamburger instead of the acid pH of the fried food. Did you know that pH imbalance is a major cause of food cravings? Your body is unable to process the food you are taking in and so it just asks for more and more and you keep giving it more and more junk.
The easy way to check your pH is with litmus paper and urine. This is not nearly as accurate as checking the blood. The most accurate urine test will be done after a 12 hour fast (water only). Put a few drops of urine on the litmus paper, let it sit a few moments and then compare to the chart that comes with the paper. Urine pH should be 6.8-7.0 for the body to be at optimum levels. (NOTE: do not dip the paper in the urine - that most likely will wash off the indicator and give an inaccurate reading.)You can buy litmus paper at any drug store in town or on line.
Start now to bring your body into pH balance. The weight loss will follow as surely as the sun comes up in the morning. Heartburn will be a thing of the past. Urinary infections will be someone else's problem. Food cravings will be what someone else has.
You may have some rough days when toxins and acids are released from stored fat. Those days will pass. The balance of avoiding surgery and hospitals far out weighs a few down days. Just keep pushing the alkaline veggies and water to balance out the acid.
Now don't go overboard. When you get a good balance - don't go in the alkaline direction. It is more difficult to do than the acid side, but it is possible and the effects are just as devastating.
